John Redbond started working as a trainee nurse in 2001 and qualified in 2004. He worked in practice for 17 years.
Whilst in practice John ran the lab, then went on to run a dermatology clinic for 8 years from 2011 onwards, completing the BSAVA Merit Award in Dermatology. He also became Head Nurse and Practice Coordinator at the same practice.
John has had several articles published in different journals around the subject of dermatology nursing and has lectured at LVS, BSAVA and BVNA.
He left practice in 2018 to become the Group Manager of the Veterinary Nursing Dermatology Group, being set up to support nurses interested in this field. He is passionate about nurses doing more in dermatology and through the group has organised several CPD meetings and delivered webinars, as well as producing materials such as charts and a ‘dermatology toolbox’.
He currently works for the groups sponsor, the dermatology products provider Vetruus, and performs a number of different administrative tasks for them around the field of dermatology, including being involved in the Nurse Merit Award in Dermatology, which they also sponsor.
